Individual Names should be entered last name first. For a broader search, use only a last name and first initial.

Organizational Names should be entered as they are spelled.
Example: California Bank
Ordinance Number enter only the last four digits of the ordinance number.
Example: 20181204o3110 should be entered as 3110.
Wildcard use the asterisk (*) before and/or after text in any search field.
Example: *31* would bring up all ordinances with the number 31 in them
Text Search enter expected key words from the title of ordinance or name of the department.
Example: Clerk-Recorder would bring up any ordinance that had Clerk-Recorder in the title, notes, or listed as the County Department.
Assessor Parcel Numbers are entered in a nine digit format.

**allows you to search by any character in the field. For example,
*TS*in the Legal Remarks field will return documents which contain TS anywhere in the Legal Remarks field. (TS indicates a timeshare unit.) This feature works only on the Case #, Parcel #, and Legal Remarks fields.
MICKEY MOUSEwill return documents with MICKEY MOUSE found in the same field. It will not return documents if the words are separated or do not match exactly (i.e. MICKEY M MOUSE or MICKEY MOUSEHEAD).
fuzzysearch. ROAM~ will return words that are similar in spelling to ROAM, such as FOAM or ROAMS. A tilde ~ plus a number performs a proximity search. This can be useful when there are instances of a name being recorded both with and without the middle initial.
MARY MAXWELL~1 will return all instances of MARY and MAXWELL being one word away from each other (i.e. MARY L MAXWELL or MARY ELIZABETH MAXWELL). Increase the number to increase the number of words between your search criteria.
